Company Houses in Shallmar, MD

Friends of Blackwater and Aurora Research Associates are hosting 6 public history events this summer in communities along the former West Virginia Central & Pittsburg Railroad (aka Western Maryland Railway).  These programs are funded by a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council. The events are free of charge, open to everyone, and will include:

  • Presentation sharing Aurora’s research on the WVC&P and historic buildings along the railroad
  • Updates about planning and studies for a potential National Historic Trail
  • Opportunity to talk history with our team and other community members, and share your knowledge
  • Light refreshments

You can attend any meeting that is convenient for you. Our schedule is below.
